A step-by-step guide to getting the most from the Canary Fresh and Clean Sample Bundle, from testing each product to deciding what to buy full-size.
Quick answer
Open the Canary Fresh and Clean Sample Bundle and use each product in your normal routine for at least a week before judging it. Keep the pouch and labels so you can reorder the ones that fit.
Why a sample bundle is different from a full-size switch
A sample bundle lets you test a plastic-free routine without committing to full-size products. The Canary Fresh and Clean Sample Bundle includes four products, each meant to replace a single-use plastic staple. Because the sizes are smaller, you get a short trial period rather than a long-term supply. That makes it ideal for travel sample toiletries or for trying new clean products before buying larger versions.
The trade-off is that you may not get enough of any one item to fully judge long-term performance, especially if you share it with someone else. Use the sample period to notice texture, taste, and convenience rather than expecting a full month of use from every item.
When to choose the Oral Care Basics Bundle instead
If your main goal is replacing toothpaste tubes, the Oral Care Basics Bundle is a more focused option. It includes a 126-tablet jar that covers roughly two months of brushing and comes in Peppermint or another flavor. The sample bundle is better if you want to test several product types at once; the Oral Care Basics Bundle is better if you already know you want to commit to toothpaste tablets.
Steps to use the sample bundle
- Unpack and read the labels: Open the bundle and check each product's label for usage instructions and ingredients. Common mistake: tossing the packaging before noting which product is which, especially if you plan to reorder. Keep the information card or take a photo of the labels for future reference.
- Start with the toothpaste tablets: Use the Peppermint Toothpaste Tablets as you would regular toothpaste: chew one tablet, let it foam, then brush. Common mistake: biting down hard or swallowing the tablet before it foams. Checkpoint: if you dislike the texture, try letting it dissolve a few seconds longer before brushing. Give it at least three days before deciding; the texture can feel different at first.
- Test one new product at a time: Introduce the other items one by one rather than all on the same day. This helps you notice which product suits you and which doesn't. Common mistake: switching everything at once and then not knowing which item caused an issue. Use a simple note on your phone to rate each product from 1 to 5.
- Use the sample sizes for travel or gym bags: The small sizes are ideal for travel sample toiletries. Pack them in your carry-on or gym bag to keep plastic-free options on hand. Common mistake: forgetting that toothpaste tablets need to stay dry; use a small tin or the original pouch. Check that all items are allowed in your carry-on before flying.
- Decide what to repurchase: After a week or two, review your notes and choose which products to buy full-size. If oral care stood out, consider the Oral Care Basics Bundle for a longer supply. Common mistake: waiting until the sample is completely gone, leaving you without a replacement. Reorder your favorite before the sample runs out to avoid going back to plastic.
